Portraits of anonymous mid-century women in photobooths
These are from a series of 100 Pop portraits I carved in 2018. Some of these went on a tour with the AFA, and some I have just been looking at for a few years in my studio for sentimental reasons; because I love them so much. Referenced from the millions of photographs disconnected from identity floating around flea markets and ebay, etc. It is irresistibly bittersweet that all we know of any these women is this instant they chose to document.
