Considering all of the machismo recently on display on the world stage, Lisa Brawn offers a fresh opportunity to re-examine and evaluate historical figures and fictional characters by this one metric, ¿Quién es más macho? 

POPSHO presents for your consideration, one hundred mini-macho woodcuts in an epic showdown. Who is more macho, Basquiat or Le Corbusier? Siddhārtha or Jesús? Dolly or Nina? Bootsy or Dinah? 

For this show I will be pitting lowbrow against highbrow, the past against the present, and fact against fiction.

This is a new series of miniature Pop portraits (around 6" x 8") painted in a "letterpress" style. These woodcuts are carved in 13 ply Birch and hang about 3/4" away from the wall to throw beautiful shadows. The edges are finished in gloss enamel.
